Home tab is divided into three major the following sections: File, ExecutionSettings, Import and SettingsLibraries.

The File section contains four buttons:  Open, Save, Save As and Close.

  • Open button to open a workflow task.
  • Save button to save a workflow task.
  • Save As buttonto save a workflow task with a different name.
  • Close button to close the current workflow task.


The Execution section contains two buttons: Start and Stop.

  • Start button is a split button .The  button part starts the execution of a workflow task on the local runtime. The menu part of the Start button allows the user to view a list of the available execution agents. This feature is available only on the Designer integrated with Flowster Studio product. For Designer Basic, the only available execution agent is Designer local.  
  • Stop button stops the execution of the current workflow task.

The Settings section contains one button: Settings.

  • Settings buttonopens Settings dialog windowa window from where the Designer’s working folders for Workflows and Snippets can be changed. The default path to save Workflows and Snippets can be changed using the Browse button.

  • is C:\ProgramData\Flowster Solutions\Flowster Studio\Designer\.
  • There are also default applications for external editors, like notepad.exe for PowerShell, SSH,CMD and Other activities that are accepting commands and the Quick Binding Filter toggle that once set to ON will apply a filter to the list of variables/arguments that are displayed to match a property type.

The Import section contains one button: Import.

  • Import button opens a window where dependencies can be imported from. If no snippet or workflow is open, the option is inactive.

The Libraries section contains one button: Activity Libraries.

  • Activity Libraries button opens a window with a list of categories that contain default or custom activities with matching checkboxes to allow the user to configure which categories/activities to load on Designer startup.

    NOTE: After the configuration is done, click on the Apply button. The changes will apply to the current Designer session without restart.
