Open Designer with Engine Selection
If the Choose Engine at Startup option is enabled in the Settings window, when Designer is started, the user must select an engine to which the Designer will connect to.
At the first start of Designer, there will be discovered all engines with matching GUID. When starting Designer again, there will be displayed a cached list with all previously discovered engines. For a new discovery, click on the Discover button.
If needed, manual inputs and DNS inputs can be used. The manual inputs can be inserted in the engines list, by writing a Flowster Engine endpoint in the Manual Input field and clicking Add.
NOTE: for a manually inserted endpoint to be visible in the list at a new start, disable the Auto Discover option, especially if the added endpoint cannot be discovered via the network. The Auto Discover option will try to populate the list with all the discovered Flowster Engine endpoints in the network.
For creating a DNS endpoint the following steps need to be executed:
Open control panel and go to: Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Administrative Tools
Click on DNS and a message box to choose the DNS server will pop up
After chosing the Windows DNS Server a new window containing DNS Manager will appear. Go to the path you want to add the endpoint. Right click and select “Other New Record”
Select “Service Location(SRV)” as a resource record type
Add correct endpoint data and save entry
When starting Designer choose DNS and add SVR Record path. Click Refresh
Select endpoint and click on OK button. Designer should open with the selected endpoint. If engine doesn’t exist then Designer or engine exist and user has no rights then the no rights error message will show and Designer will not open.
The engine endpoint format should be with IP or with the machine’s name:
