1.2. Portal
1.2. Portal
General Overview
Portal page consists of two main areas:
- The header which contains:
- the Logo icon
- the Language option
- The Switch Tenant option (if logged in user has user/admin roles in multiple tenants' security groups)
- the Administrator option (if logged in user has Administrator privileges)
- the Logged In User information and Log Out button (if not hidden)
- The working area which contains five tab headers (Dashboard, Inbox, workflows, Scheduled and History) that open their correspondent panels, which will be described in more detail within the following pages.
Customization of Portal Appearance
Flowster Studio allows users with administrative permissions to customize the appearance of the Portal website by choosing different colors, styles etc. in Administrator → Settings → Portal Appearance page. For further more information, please visit Portal Appearance Customization.
General Settings
During installation of Flowster Studio or Flowster Studio Portal component, the following settings are deployed with "false" default value (except Lock-Header setting which is set to "true"). If the settings are set to "true", the buttons will be hidden in Portal. The default values can be changed by accessing Administrator → Client Apps page and selecting the desired Portal client app:
- Hide-Logout: hides the log out button
- Hide-Update Workflowlist Categories: hides the update button in Workflows page
- Hide-PersistState: hides the persisted state button for workflows in History and Inbox pages. If set to "true" the example workflows in the below picture would be hidden.
- Hide-Restart: hides the restart button for workflows in History page
- Lock-Header: locks the header when the user scrolls in menu entries.
Language
The default language for Portal is set during the installation, but it can be modified after login, by clicking on Language and selecting the desired language option (the language selection is persisted/saved per user and will also be applied for emails templates sent on user's behalf, for example emails sent during approval process).
Switch Tenant
If a user is member in multiple tenants security groups, he can switch tenants from the tenants list. The list of tenants is determined based on the security group role on each tenant for the logged in user. If the logged in user is member in a user type security group on first tenant and member in an admin type security group on second tenant, he can switch between first tenant and second tenant in Portal. When switching to second tenant, he will also have permission to switch to Administrator.
NOTE: the list of tenants is determined at login. If roles for logged in user changed in a tenant's security group, the list will be recalculated at the next login of the user.
Mobile Version
A mobile version of a website is an alternate version of a website that is optimized for use on smartphones or similar mobile devices which have small screens with limited screen resolution. Depending on the type and the content of the website, usually not every page and link has to be available on the mobile site. When using Flowster Studio on your mobile, the change of Language, switch of Tenant and go to Administrator features are not available. All other operations like start/approve/resume workflows, schedule workflows, navigate through categories, view history are ready to be used from the mobile version:
