1.3.3.3. Admin Permissions

The Security → Admin Permissions page can be reached by clicking the  menu item.

IMPORTANT: If upgraded from previous versions of Flowster Studio to version 5.1, Permissions must be re-created in order to match the new configuration options available for version 5.1.

By defining Permissions , access for users members in admin type security groups to Administrator and Designer operations can be limited. The term restriction refers to hiding some of the ribbon items, menu options or operations from contextual menus, so that the logged in user cannot access them.

This page consists in two main areas: permissions list and permissions info. Permissions list view contains all defined permissions. Permissions info area contains all defined permissions' configurations.

In order to define a permission, follow the next steps:

  • Click the Add Permission button. The Add new permission window opens.

  • Type in a permission name.
  • Type in a description (optional).
  • Click Apply to save or Close to abort the current operation.

In order to assign admin types groups to a permission role, follow the next steps:

  • Select the permission role
  • Expand Group Name
  • Select the desired groups by clicking over them:

  • Click outside of the drop-down list
  • The selected groups will be listed in the Group Name field, separated by comma ( , ).

Permissions can be granted/restricted from the Configuration area:

Home:

The New Workflow and Check-out workflow operations are available in Designer. The other operations are available in Administrator.

The Check-Out Workflow option allows a user to perform check out operations for the workflows within a category where he has rights. If a category was checked but the Check-Out Workflow option was not checked, then the user will be able to perform only the Check Out Read Only operation, not being able to design the workflow.

The Enable Is Active Button workflow allows a user to mark a workflow as Active or Inactive. If a category was checked but the Enable Is Active Button was not checked, then the user will be able to see the workflows, but it will not be able to see the Toggle Active button.
